Boston Globe Today: The Hottest Ticket, Standout Tonight, Parade Monday, What Else You Can Do, Primary Night Party!

Mara Dolan Story in the Boston Globe

The hottest race around is in The Boston Globe today! “Dolan has accumulated endorsements and elevated reproductive rights,” the story by Matt Stout says. It’s about time. Massachusetts judges have been deciding abortion cases for hundreds of years and will continue to do so. Incredibly, my opponent says, “That’s legislative.” She is just plain wrong. Click HERE to read the story.

The Boston Globe pic is from our Chelmsford standout, and we had a fantastic standout in Cambridge too, joined by Dave O’Laughlin of the IBEW Local 103! I have always stood up for labor and I am very proud to be their endorsed candidate. We’ve got a standout tonight, Friday, August 30, 2024 starting at 4:00 p.m. on the Billerica Common. Come join us! You can just show up, or email me for more information at Mara@MaraDolan.com.

Governor's Council In Session sign

Some of the recent endorsements cited in the Globe story are some of the most significant. Four sitting Governor’s Councillors have endorsed me: Eileen Duff, Joe Ferreira, Terry Kennedy, and Paul DePalo. They all spoke of looking forward to a new era of collaboration and professionalism, with the added perspective of a public defender. Former Governor’s Councillors Michael Albano and Mary Hurley endorsed me too, with Michael Albano saying, “Her unique background will bring enlightened decision making to the Council and enhance the Massachusetts judiciary." Mary Hurley said, “We must have someone who quickly and thoroughly understands the legal, social, and psychological issues the Governor’s Council faces.” It is extraordinary for so many people who know what the job requires better than anyone to endorse my candidacy, and I am humbled and very grateful.

Had a wonderful time meeting with voters in Woburn last Friday! It's amazing to see how many folks know about this race, and I am seeing that all over the district. But for all the good news, we still have a race to win! Come join us in Marlborough, where their U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan recently endorsed me, to march in the Labor Day parade on Monday! It’s the largest Labor Day parade east of the Mississippi and we will have an absolute blast! Email me at Mara@MaraDolan.com for more information and to RSVP.

If you can’t make it to Billerica or Marlborough, you can still help raise awareness and make sure voters get to the polls by Tuesday, September 3rd! It’s easy to make calls or send texts, so just email me at Mara@MaraDolan.com and we’ll get you all set up.

Clara in Billerica wears my button because she knows we need to make sure people know about this race. We’re sending texts directly from the campaign to voters across the district, so please make a contribution today to make sure we get our message to as many voters as possible. All the endorsements, all the great press coverage, and all of you add up to an immeasurable amount, but we’ve still got to make sure enough voters know about this race, so please make a contribution today, let’s win this thing, and join us at The Mighty Squirrel in Waltham on Tuesday night after the polls close!

Take Care,

Mara
